Kathleen Lavoy of Gardens by Lavoy brought much-needed life to existing planters on my deck. When we met onsite to discuss the project, she not only evaluated the site for environmental factors but also looked at how the containers fit into the larger garden area. She asked great questions and really listened to the answers. We planned it so she would do the work while I was on vacation. As a result, I came back from my vacation with revived containers filled with gorgeous plants that I could easily water throughout the season. She also provided advice on my flower garden, steering me toward native plants and annuals (such as the scabiosa pictured) that would attract pollinators such as birds, bees, and butterflies. I highly recommend Kathleen for her professionalism and expertise!

Kathleen is a great person and wonderful to work with. She listens well and understands what your needs are before offering her professional services. When we discussed the improvement for my backyard, she asked for all the details, such as measurements and directions, along with lots of photos. Quickly, she sent me a hand-drawing sketch illustrating her suggestions, followed by a phone conversation explaining her ideas. Not only presenting her ideas on the big picture, but also explaining why a particular plant is in a particular place, even recommending a specific type of vegetable bed for the Northwest Pacific area. She knows how to listen to your wants and then incorporate them into a beautifully cohesive design. She's also a master at sourcing unique boxes and such that won't break the bank.
